Powder rooms have always been one of my favorite spaces to design. They’re usually the smallest room in a home (that requires design consideration, at least), which makes it a special kind of spatial challenge. With those especially itsy bitsy, teeny weeny powder rooms, you have to make the most of every square inch.
As a small and traditionally more formal area, powder rooms are a place that people aren’t afraid to take a little risk. They’re okay with going bolder, brighter, and more dramatic. Budgets tend to have a little more wiggle room here, so you can usually have some fun with higher end fixtures. I’ll always give a little push for some whimsical wallpaper in that tiny, under-the-stairs bathroom, especially if the rest of the home is a parade of greige.
Powder rooms also satisfy my penchant for pocket doors since they’re so commonly used as space-savers.
Check out some of our very favorite, teensy tiny powder rooms that pack a huge punch!
Do you love powder rooms as much as we do? What do you like (or dislike) about designing them? Let us know!

My developer is trying to convince me to move
to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of
websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform.
I have heard very good things about blogengine.net.
Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?
Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
