parisian design: wainscoting. parquet floors. elaborate cornices.
mid-century / contemporary design: rich hues. fluid shapes. inviting textiles.
on paper (or in blog), parisian design doesn’t mix with contemporary, mid-century design in any sense. yet, when the designers brave and brazen enough to mix the two worlds, something magical happens and an eclectic space full of detail, vibrance, contrast and tactile design emerges.
we’ve featured this “old world modern” type of style on the delight of design before but we couldn’t help but re-feature it. so today, we’ve rounded up our favorite parisian-meets-mid-century, old-world-modern interiors. we’ll just leave them here to them speak for themselves.
these mid-century-meets-parisian designed spaces have us drooling with interior design envy, but what about you? what kinds of design-melding makes you melt?
